Do not take the batteries out of your smoke detector. If it goes off by mistake, just wait for it to stop.
Check your smoke alarm once a month by pressing the test button. We will also test when we do the annual Landlord’s inspections.
If when you test it, it doesn’t make a sound (and it is battery operated), then please change the batteries to see if this resolves the issue. If it is still not working, or if it is hardwired in, please contact us (with link to contact details) and we will aim to get you an appointment within 24 hours.
You should have a smoke alarm on every floor in your house – if one is missing, please contact us.
