An EPC, or Energy Performance Certificate, is a document which is required by law, when a landlord rents a property to you. It sets out the assessed energy efficiency and potential CO2 emissions for a property and is rated on a scale from A to G. A being the best and G being the worst. Very few houses achieve an A rating. Most of St Michaels Housing properties are either C or D.
In order for us to rent a house to you, the EPC on your property will need to be an E or above.
An EPC survey will be carried out on your property every 10 years. If the property falls below an E, we will ensure that any work needed to bring it up to standard is carried out urgently.
