Inspection and upgrades policy

A Landlord’s inspection will be carried out annually when a thorough inspection of all properties, interior and exterior will be undertaken.

All general maintenance noted because of this inspection, shall be undertaken over the forthcoming months and our aim is to have these completed within 6 months of the inspection.

If, during the inspection, any upgrades are noted, these shall be prioritised according to urgency and will be based on functionality, age etc.

St Michael Housing seeks to carry out upgrades as finances allow.

If an upgrade is needed due to mobility issues or other health circumstance affecting the tenants’ enjoyment of the property, St Michael Housing will assess these on a case-by-case basis and shall endeavour to help with minor alterations. However, should a more extensive upgrade be needed, then the tenant is responsible for initiating requests via their doctor and adult social care. Any structural alterations shall only be undertaken with the prior agreement of the board of trustees.

As per our lettings policy, we are unable to offer assisted living or sheltered accommodation.
